Dan
I learned WHEE from your free short video and free articles on your website.
I find WHEE, in it’s niche, as the most powerful of all techniques I know (so are all the others in their niches!). I find I need to define a Feeling. WHEE doesn’t work so well for me with problems that don’t have an associated feeling. So for example if I had a problem like I’d use EFT for “Even though there’s something about this that I don’t understand, and I’d like to understand it more – I wonder if there’s anything I can do?” – I’d have to use EFT, I find WHEE useless for this. But if there’s distress, or if I can focus on the involved feeling, even if I can’t put it into words, WHEE is super at dissolving it. WHEE also doesn’t seem to work directly for pain – only if I label the possible feeling first. EFT can work directly on the labelled pain eg it makes the metaphoric connection itself sometimes, or it sparks the imagination. But sometimes I’ve found a way in to when WHEE doesn’t directly work. For example, when I was upset but I couldn’t name the feeling (perhaps that feeling has no name yet?) I got myself involved in the distressing event and simultaneously said “Even though I feel SOMETHING about SOMETHING, I love and accept myself, and G-d loves and accepts me completely and unconditionally, and He agrees with me, and trusts me” – well, lots of dynamics changed there. Bad feelings dissolved. Perhaps I should not say bad feelings dissolving, it’s more complicated feelings resolving. As resolved into their component parts, they can be dealt with, as a hard knot it just hurts. When I say resolved, it’s not just words. Whole events came into being that didn’t seem like they were there before.
Since then I use EFT a lot, much more than WHEE, because it helps me explore when I don’t know the feelings. But I know I can rely on WHEE too, for what it does, when it does it, it’s miraculous. It’s like a toolbox, each thing works well in it’s way, you can use a chisel for a screwdriver, but the more tools you have, the faster you can operate. Perhaps others know how to use one technique for everything, but I prefer to learn the new aspects of each technique and inventor, rather than reinvent the wheel.
I think WHEE’s effectiveness may be connected to joining different sides of the brain. Or, it may be connected to *the act of joining* the different sides of the brain, as well as the brain ending up more joined. It may be a reminder to see the problem from multiple dimensions. It may be connected to the combination of
a) connecting a problem to the body,
b) realizing there are various aspects of the problem, and focusing on them one at a time,
c) couching the problem within a larger picture,
d) believing in solutions,
e) trying for a solution,
f) believing in G-d’s love for us, and trust in us as individuals, and in His encouraging us to make changes for the better, to be brave.

Thank you ever so much, [‘X’], for your very keenly observed comments. Much appreciated! Your permission to post these on the Testimonials page is also appreciated. Can you also add a few words on how you learned WHEE?
I am truly intrigued by the differences you note between your uses of WHEE and EFT.
I too have found that WHEE works best when the focus is on the feelings/emotions. As I understand it, WHEE opens ‘file drawers’ in the unconscious mind where feelings are stored.
Have you approached WHEE with the understanding that if an issue does not reduce its intensity, you can:
– Massage the collarbone point
– Rephrase the focus statement
e.g. “Even though I am feeling _____ but I don’t know why I’m feeling this.”
or add imagined action or other responses to the focus statement e.g. A man who was angry with his boss
seemed to be connecting well with his feelings but the SUDS did not reduce. Restating it as, “Even though I’d
like to choke him till he’s blue in the face, so he can feel the suffering I’m feeling” worked well.
– Look for meta-issues that may be blocking the release – i.e. Reasons for holding onto the feeling/ belief/ memory/ etc
– Look for similar issues earlier in life that may be sitting in the same ‘file drawer’ (These may be the actual issues that are asking for release, by inviting/ creating the current life situations that are similar to themselves.)
